AERN Featured in Meetings in Sumter County

The Sumter County Chamber of Commerce held its Breakfast for Business meeting on August 16 at the Coleman Center in York. AERN Outreach Coordinator Mary Patterson presented information to business leaders on AERN resources located at the newly opened AERN Center in Livingston. She illustrated how the resource books provide sample business plans and ideas for funding new businesses. Population age demographics could also be useful for area businesses wishing to expand their service area.
Ms. Allison Tucker, Sumter County Chamber director, and Ms. Patterson traveled to Livingston at noon for the York-Livingston Rotary Club meeting at the University of West Alabama. Ms. Patterson was welcomed by Rotary President Tommy McGraw, and she explained how the AERN Center provides a computer, software and resource books for use by local businesses. Ms. Patterson answered questions on how to get the word out about the resources and praised the Bruno business librarians for researching data when entrepreneurs used the "Ask a Business Librarian" feature on the AERN website. The attentive audience had questions about Sumter County Census demographics, and AERN Co-Director Annette Watters followed up with emailing this data to interested parties.
