AERN Entrepreneurial Centers receive Updated Computer Resources (3/3/2017)
Innovation is growing in rural Alabama, and the month of January brought improved access to the technology needed by local entrepreneurs to develop business plans. With funding provided by a grant from the Appalachian Regional Commission and support from The University of Alabama, AERN provided new computers, software and additional print resources to seven entrepreneurial centers in Bibb, Chambers, Fayette, Pickens, Macon, Marion and Tallapoosa Counties.
AERN's Annual Meeting held in December (3/1/2017)
AERN held its annual meeting of the partners on December 19 at Bryant Conference Center. Ms. Mary Patterson, Director of AERN, welcomed the partners and special guests and discussed the importance of collaborating to achieve a greater result. Read more.
Grant to Fund AERN Expansion (9/24/2015)
AERN has been awarded a grant from the Delta Regional Authority to expand its work in Alabama's Black Belt. Mary Patterson, Project Director, and Dr. Sam Addy, Associate Dean for Economic Development Outreach, Culverhouse College of Commerce, attended the awards announcement in Montgomery on September 17. The project, Training and Innovating Delta Entrepreneurs, will add seven additional Delta counties to the AERN network. Pictured, left to right: Christopher A. Ribbon Cutting Held for the Hale County AERN Center (3/11/2015)
After much planning and engagement with local entrepreneurs, AERN held the grand opening and ribbon cutting for its Hale County Entrepreneurial Center on February 25, 2015 in the HERO (Hale Empowerment and Revitalization Organization) office in Greensboro with HERO Executive Director Pam Dorr hosting the event. Workshop Presented on Growing a Business (9/8/2014)
On August 13 the Alabama Entrepreneurial Research Network (AERN) and its Marion County partner, C3 of Northwest Alabama Economic Development Alliance (C3), held a one-day workshop in Winfield. The workshop focused on teaching business owner participants many ways to grow a business. Read more.

After taking her grandson to Disney World for his 5th birthday, Vella Rogoski imagined creating a business in Alexander City that would bring a piece of this magic to the lives of local children on their birthdays without the requirement of travel. Read more.

AERN partnered with C3 of Northwest Alabama Economic Development Alliance to host a Website Design and Marketing workshop in Hamilton on April 25. Area business owners brought laptops and received hands-on instruction on how to design a business website. Read more.
Library School Intern Contributes to Website (4/26/2013)
This spring the AERN website has received some much-needed updating. A key player in the process was Steve Zary, a camera-shy intern from the School of Library and Information Studies at the University of Alabama. Read more.
